Open Position: Audiovisual Project Engineer for our Fremont, CA office
The Project Engineer will work closely with Design Engineers to use, learn, and advance the skills and knowledge in the AV project management and engineering discipline while providing engineering, programming, technical and post-installation support. Confidence, professionalism, accuracy, attention to details, and good communication skills are attributes required for success. This position will require taking responsibility for projects and/or tasks and their successful completion.
You will be required to work side-by-side with various team members in completing projects so good people skills are a must.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
4 years experience in audiovisual project engineering, project management, IT systems and related technologies.
Open Position: Audiovisual Foreman – Tech 5 for our Fremont, CA office
The Foreman position would be responsible for performing high quality installation work and assigning installation team members individual responsibilities, as well as basic job training.
Perform basic audio, video and control systems testing including preliminary diagnostic troubleshooting on integrated audiovisual systems. When required provide further installation testing, commissioning and prepare punch lists.
Maintain proper safety practices and safe work area, attend site construction meetings.
6+ years experience within the Audiovisual trade.
Must have experience using hand tools of the Audiovisual trade.
Good computer skills including proficiency with the use Windows and MS Office.
Must have proficiency loading and retrieving Crestron and AMX code, and proficiency programming Extron and SP Control systems.

Open Position: Avidex Field Support Technician – Level One, for our Fremont, CA office
The Field Support Technician, Level One works in collaboration with the Northern California Support Manager and other Avidex resources to troubleshoot, define, escalate and resolve audiovisual equipment and system problems for our customers. The Technician primarily performs these services at our customer’s facilities. A comprehensive background in electronics, computers and a good understanding of audio, video and control systems is required to be successful. This position will report directly to the Support Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent Avidex Support by providing good customer service while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare for each assigned field service call by familiarizing self with customer site as-built documentation.
- Perform systematic and high-quality diagnostic troubleshooting, testing, repair and adjustment to integrated audiovisual systems.
- Provide detailed status (document in writing your findings and resolution) of system repair to the Avidex AV Help Desk while efficiently servicing the customer.
- Provide on-site preventive maintenance.
- Obtain or research necessary repair and operation manuals or information needed to perform timely repairs for customers.
- Maintain and update technical bulletins for all applicable equipment.
- Maintain proper safety equipment and practices in shop and on customer site.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Two years experience within Audiovisual, IT support industry
- Demonstration of good customer service
- Willingness to learn, exceed customers expectations and an excellent work ethic
- Must have broadband internet access at home
- Must have experience using construction equipment inclusive of, but not limited to ladders, scaffolding and lifts, etc.
- Must understand and demonstrate basic networking skills
- Must have good computer skills including proficiency with the use Windows and MS Office
- Must have basic proficiency making field changes to Extron and SP Control systems
- Must have basic understand of AMX and Crestron control systems
- Must have basic proficiency setting up audio and video conferencing systems

- Perform systematic and high-quality diagnostic troubleshooting and repair or adjustment to the integrated audiovisual systems.
- De-install/install system components, devices, and equipment.
- Intermediate knowledge of trouble shooting video and audio conferencing systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of trouble retrieving, loading, and trouble shooting control systems.
- Able to repair connectors, cables, and other system components.
- Able to de-install/install system components, devices, and equipment.
- Maintain and update technical bulletins for all applicable equipment.
- Maintain proper safety practices at all times.
- Work sites vary from finished executive boardrooms to new construction sites.
- Work hours will vary according to individual calls. Some service calls may require after normal hours and/or weekend commitments.
- The working environment contains various power tools, electricity, heights, construction hazards, etc. Therefore, all employees are required to take the necessary actions and precautions to ensure that practical safety techniques and measures are employed.
Position Requirements:
- 4+ years experience within the Audiovisual industry.
- Demonstration of good customer service.
- Two year electronics degree or comparable work experience.
- Must have experience using hand tools and test equipment of the Audiovisual trade.
- Must have proficiency terminating all common Audiovisual Industry cables.
- Intermediate knowledge of de-installing and reinstalling audiovisual equipment.

Open Position: Avidex Audiovisual Technician, for our Bellevue, WA office
The Audiovisual Technician should have a background in the construction and audiovisual trades and the work involved. This position will perform the majority of installation and rack building work indoors at the Avidex shop/warehouse located in So. Seattle. The Audiovisual Technician will pre-build rack systems in the shop and possibly at the job site, will pull and terminate cables, install audiovisual components and other related hardware
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties with little or no direct supervision.
- Assure high quality installation and rack fabrication work is performed professionally and within budgeted timeframe.
- Participate in, and ensure that, rack build-ups and related systems are accomplished correctly, accurately and neatly.
- Participate in, and ensure that, field installation work including cable run, cable harnessing and termination is done correctly accurately and neatly.
- Assure each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
- Assure each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings and specifications.
