Open Position: Sr. Project Engineer, Integrated Systems Dept, for our Fremont office
The Sr. Project Engineer will work closely with other Project Engineers and Design Engineers to learn and advance skills and knowledge in the AV engineering and design discipline while providing engineering, programming, technical and post-installation support. Confidence, professionalism, accuracy, attention to detail, punctuality and good communication skills are attributes required for success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a balanced commitment to customer satisfaction and performing work within budget.
- Provide engineering support and expertise to the integration staff on jobs utilizing a combined skill set of engineering, CAD, equipment configuration, programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, documentation, etc.
- Take the lead engineering role on small, medium, and large design/build projects.
- Work with in-house and customer design teams to develop AV systems and room requirements for client’s spaces.
- Develop drawings for AV systems including facility plans, reflected ceiling plans, AV electrical plans, elevations, details, functional diagrams, equipment schedules, etc.
- Provide to customer design teams HVAC requirement, lighting requirements, acoustic requirements, etc.
- Take the lead project engineer role on assigned bid projects.
- On all projects including bid projects, conduct bid reviews, take-offs and submittal preparation. On projects requiring specific test procedures and submittals, perform required testing and checkout procedures, and assemble results per the specifications.
- Support other engineers as needed with engineering and CAD tasks.
- Provide mentoring to others to promote continuing growth of individuals within the organization
- Assist with systems testing, commissioning and preparation of punch lists.
- Assist with project closeout and take appropriate steps and measures to assure Final Acceptance by customer.
- Work on projects and tasks assigned by the department Manager and work closely with the Design Engineer and Project Manager on the project.
- Work with design team to prepare control system submittals.
- Provide control system loading and debugging working close with in-house and subcontract programmers.
- Provide Support Field Technicians with guidance and assistance on occasions when an impasse is reached during any given post-installation service activities.
- Attend department safety and co-ordination meetings as required.
- Maintain proper safety practices in shop and on job site.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, standards and conventions.
- Work sites vary from finished executive boardrooms to new construction sites. Majority of work is indoors, but site conditions vary drastically. Appropriate dress is required.
- Projects vary in length and locations. Occasionally, jobs may be outside of the local area requiring overnight travel and stays that could range from one night to several nights away.
- Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend commitments.
- The working environment contains various power tools, electricity, heights, construction hazards, etc. Therefore, all employees are required to take the necessary actions and precautions to ensure that practical safety techniques and measures are employed.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8 years equivalent experience in audio visual, sound, teleconferencing, corporate video, systems and related systems.
- Must have good computer skills including proficiency using Windows and MS Office.
- Must have proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Must have a CTS and willing to pursue CTS-D.
- Must be able to conduct internal training to other staff.
- Experience with AV and IT for AV system commissioning.
- Must have some experience using hand tools and test equipment of the IT / AV trades.
- Must have a great deal of mobility in walking, driving, lifting and carrying.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
- Must be able to see, hear and have good eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle long and short distances.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Open Position: Programmer Level 3, for our Fremont office
The Programmer will work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to learn and advance skills and knowledge in the AV engineering, design and programming disciplines while providing technical and support. Programming involves assisting the project team in providing source code and laying out graphic control panels to operate integrated audiovisual systems. Confidence, professionalism, accuracy, attention to detail, punctuality and good communication skills are attributes required for success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a balanced commitment to customer satisfaction and performing work within budget.
- Provide field support and expertise to the installation staff on jobs utilizing a combined skill set of advanced programming, equipment configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, etc.
- Provide advanced programming and graphic touch panel interface layouts for integrated audiovisual systems using various source code including Crestron, AMX, Extron and others as needed.
- Responsible for organizing, maintaining and archiving all job related code, graphic touch panel layouts and programs on the Avidex server.
- Work with engineering team to prepare control system submittals as required.
- During the job commissioning phase maintain an on-going dialog, ensuring that the systems quality and performance meets job requirements.
- Assist with providing systems testing, commissioning and preparation of punch lists.
- Assist Project Manager and Lead Installer to ensure all field related loose ends are tied up and cleaned up.
- On consultant based projects assist with conducting bid reviews, take-offs and submittal preparation related to control system. On projects requiring specific test procedures and submittals, perform required testing and checkout procedures, and assemble results per the specifications.

- 4+ years experience within the audio visual trade.
- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Must have experience programming C++, knowledge of RS 232/422 protocol and graphics editing. Java and HTML programming experience is a plus.
- Must maintain Crestron Certified Programmer and AMX ACE certifications.
- Must have experience using hand tools and test equipment of the Audiovisual trade.
- Must have excellent computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft and Apple OS.
- Must have advanced skills creating Crestron/AMX source code and graph touch panel layouts.
- Must have advanced skills configuring Extron control systems.
- Must have advanced skills setting up audio and video conferencing systems.
- Must have advanced skills configuring a wired or wireless TCP/IP network.
- Must have proficiency setting audio gain stages and adjusting common audio equipment.
- Must have proficiency adjusting video display systems.
- Must have a great deal of mobility in walking, driving, lifting and carrying.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
- Must be able to see, hear and have good eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Must be able to work in hot humid places as well as cold places.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle long and short distances.
